It's Day 1 of our trip to Hawaii for Scott Manatt's 70th birthday extravaganza. Weather forecast is Sacramento was not as good as the forecast for Kona.
Now experienced travelers, Owen and Garrett are ready to go.
The flight to Kona involved one stop and took over 6 hours from start to finish, but we're finally here.
Scott, Sharon, John, June, Sean and Liam arrive a little after us. We shop for food to make sure we have dinner when everyone arrives and, after meeting them at the airport, everyone is at the rental house safely.

The land around the airport looks like an old lava flow, not the prettiest scenery in the world, but the sunset made up for it.We made it to the rental house and the relaxing began. The boys quickly found the pool:
